Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for me to receive my return? Once your Tax Preparer receives all of your documents, it can take up to 2 ½ weeks for you to receive your return. Tax Preparer's complete returns on a first come first serve basis. So getting your information to them earlier will result in a quicker turnaround!

What are the roles of LifePlan and my Tax Preparer? LifePlan’s role is to facilitate the tax preparation process and review your return for tax strategy. Your Tax Preparer’s role is for tax preparation, to work with you on accurately completing and filing your return.

What if I need a form? You can use the following fillable PDF's. Let us know if you need an additional document that you do not see below:

Who will prepare my return? We have access to a varierty professional tax preparers. Your return may be completed by the same preparer as last year, depending on availablity and workload.

I am not able to scan in my documents, can you assist? Absolutely! We can schedule a time for you to come to our office and we will scan your documents for you.

What if I need to file in another state? Our tax preparers can help you with that!

Why should I share my return with you if you don’t facilitate my return? Tax strategy is an integral part of your financial plan. Sharing your tax return with us allows more accurate tax strategy with your LifePlan Map!

What tax returns wouldn’t you be able to help me with? We are unable to facilitate your return if you are looking to complete a S or C Corp return, are currently under audit, or will need an extension.

If I owe this year, can I pay online? Yes! you can use the link below to pay via withdrawal from your bank account, debit, or credit card – please note that there may be a fee associated with this depending on which option you choose.

You can pay these online using these instructions:

To Make A Federal Tax Payment:

Go to the IRS website for making a tax payment.  

  • Select ‘Make a Payment’
  • Select if you are paying by direct pay (bank draft) or debit/credit card’.  There is no charge to pay by bank draft.  Fees for credit/debit cards are noted on the website.
  • Select ‘Make a Payment’
  • Select your reason for payment –    ‘Amended Return’, Apply Payment to ‘1040X’, Tax Year ‘2021’
  • Click Continue / Confirm your selections / Verify your identity
  • Sheck Privacy box and click Continue.
  • Enter your payment amount and payment date. 
  • Enter your banking or credit/debit card information.
  • Enter your email for confirmation.   Complete Electronic Signature.  Click ‘Agree’ to the Disclosure Authorization. 
  • Click submit.  Verify and Print the Confirmation.

To Make A North Carolina Tax Payment:

Go to the NC Dept of Revenue website for making a tax payment.

  • Select ‘File & Pay’.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Commonly Filed Taxes’ section.
  • Select the type of tax you are paying – Individual Income Tax Amended Tax Payment - D-400V Amended
  • Complete your contact information,   click next.
  • Complete your tax payment information, click next.
  • Select your payment method, Debit/Credit or Bank Draft.  There is no charge to pay by bank draft.  Fees for credit/debit cards are noted on the website.
  • Complete your payment information and draft date, click next.
  • Re-enter your bank account, click next.
  • Verify your payment and print the confirmation.
